Welcome the Grooms Cake Gallery Pages from Virginia’s Cakes.
The somewhat unusual tradition of a Groom’s Cake is often credited to the people in the southern United States.
In earlier times, all of the wedding provisions for the bride had to White- white dress, white flowers, white cake…
If you liked other flavors, or heaven forbid, CHOCOLATE- you just had to wait for dessert at dinner on some other occasion.

So, as I have heard from my ancestors, we in the South decided to add a separate cake called a ‘grooms cake’. At first it was a Devil’s food cake. I guess to offset the angellic white of the wedding cake, who knows?
But more recently the grooms cake has become a way for both the bride and groom to express themselves and their wishes with a less formal dessert choice.

Grooms cakes can be any flavor and most any design. They also do not have to be ‘cake’. We have made giant brownies, cookies, Cake truffles, apple cobbler… for grooms who don’t want ‘cake’.
Please view our Grooms Cake galleries and feel free to design your own special cake (or not) or choose one of the truly beautiful designs of a traditional Groom’s Cake.

Final balances are due 10 days prior to the event
